Architecture & Workflow
How GeoCell Runs Your App Across 3 Clouds
Zero proprietary lock-in. Zero cloud markup. Bring your own cloud keys, connect in under 3 minutes, and let GeoCell orchestrate an encrypted mesh, database replication, and automated failover.
Connect Your Cloud Keys
You generate scoped API keys in your own AWS, GCP, Azure, Hetzner, Vultr or OVHcloud accounts. GeoCell uses least-privilege IAM permissions to provision compute, storage, and networking directly in your infrastructure.
- ✓ Direct Provider Billing: You pay providers directly at list price with 0% markup from GeoCell.
- ✓ No Master Credentials: Ephemeral tokens and strictly scoped IAM roles. Revocable anytime.
- ✓ Your Resources: Clusters, containers, and data remain 100% yours if you ever stop using GeoCell.
Encrypted WireGuard Mesh Overlay
GeoCell deploys a peer-to-peer WireGuard mesh connecting all 3 cloud regions. Inter-cloud communications and database sync traffic never traverse the public internet unencrypted.
- ✓ Sub-millisecond Tunnels: Kernel-level WireGuard cryptographic routing.
- ✓ No Complex Cloud Interconnects: Avoid expensive AWS Direct Connect or GCP Cloud Interconnect contracts.
- ✓ Fault-Isolated Links: If any single link or cloud goes down, surviving pairs maintain full mesh integrity.
Replicated Database with Raft Consensus
Your Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDB database runs with a Primary Writer in your preferred region and active Local Readers across the other two clouds. App containers connect using standard database drivers without code modifications.
- ✓ Fast Local Reads: Requests are served by the local in-region reader for minimum latency.
- ✓ Continuous Streaming Sync: Sync lag is monitored continuously (typically < 2ms).
- ✓ Standard Open-Source Engines: No proprietary DB lock-in. Dump, export, or migrate standard SQL anytime.
Automated Cutovers & Zero-Downtime Failover
When an entire cloud region or datacenter fails, GeoCell's distributed consensus typically detects the partition in under a second. An active reader is automatically promoted to Primary Writer, and edge routing moves user traffic to the healthy regions.
- ✓ Sub-500ms Failover: Automated failover without waiting for manual human intervention.
- ✓ Zero Egress Markups: Route compute-heavy and egress workloads to cost-effective clouds like Hetzner or Vultr.
- ✓ Regular Chaos Drills: Run failover and latency spike simulations on-demand from ChatOps.
What GeoCell does
Runs itself, within the rules you set
GeoCell runs your app on three clouds at once and keeps it running when one fails. It watches your clusters, network and databases, then scales, fails over and tunes them on its own, within policies you set. Anything risky waits for your approval.
Multi-Cloud Orchestration
Deploy the same Docker image to 3 clouds and 3 regions at once, typically in under 3 minutes. Add, move or swap clouds with the same workflow.
Storage & Database Management
Your own replicated database cluster, inside your cloud accounts. GeoCell runs replication and promotes a replica when a primary fails, with no RDS lock-in.
Intelligent Infrastructure Operations
GeoCell collects telemetry at every layer, from each node's kernel and disk I/O up to your clusters, network and databases, predicts capacity needs and problems before they hit, then scales, fails over and tunes on its own. Every incident comes with a root-cause analysis.
Policy-Based Governance
Policies set what GeoCell may do: cost limits, failover targets, where traffic and data may go. Preventions block drift and misconfigurations before they reach production. Team roles on Teams, audit logs on Enterprise.
Human-in-the-Loop Control
Anything your policies mark as risky waits for a person to approve it in ChatOps before GeoCell acts. Enterprise adds approval workflows tied to SSO and audit logs.
